FAQ
IS 21st Century Learning A TRADITIONAL school?
In some ways, yes. In most ways, it's a far more impactful alternative.
21st Century LEARNING is a Humanities-first community platform connecting parents and students with a select network of independent education professionals who share forward-thinking, student-centered pedagogical practices with proven success among students of all backgrounds, skill levels, and learning styles.
Courses are relationship-rich and custom-designed to meet individual needs--an essential complement to conventional schooling and, given the unique challenges of student learning in the age of social media and AI, arguably needed now more than ever.

When do the Summer Camp Workshops take place?
Workshop schedules are flexible throughout the entire summer to meet family needs. Dates and times vary by course and teacher. See COURSES and ADMISSIONS for more info. CONTACT instructors to individualize a plan that works for your family.
When do your Other classes MEET?
Small-group Live Zoom classes and 1:1 tutoring may be scheduled throughout the year--afterschool and during regular school hours for homeschool instruction.
How do you run your LIVE ZOOM courses?
Classes are designed with highly engaging, interactive 21st Century LEARNING pedagogy. Multimedia slide decks serve as visual aids, while Google Classroom functions as the real-time assignment hub where instructors work 1:1 with students through step-by-step, individualized processes. Each instructor sets their own course-specific policies.
Who administers the courses?
Each teacher runs their own classes and administration. Please direct questions about courses to the respective instructors.
How do we know if WE'VE BEEN accepted into a program?
Usually within 24 hours after receiving enrollment inquiries, teachers will contact parents to answer questions and complete the registration process, which includes scheduling and cohort pairing, as applicable. Once logistics are worked out, teachers will email a confirmation note along with an invoice for tuition. When tuition payment has been received, class placement is guaranteed.
when is the tuition payment due?
Tuition payment is due upon acceptance into a program. Open slots for all courses are limited and filled on a first come, first served basis. Teachers will communicate class-specific policies on their invoices.
ARE scholarships or financial aid available?
Need-based scholarships or financial aid may be available. CONTACT the course instructor for more info.
What if my plans change?
We understand that plans sometimes change. If a student cannot attend a registered class, please notify the instructor immediately.
Note: Tuition is non-refundable. For schedule changes or anticipated absences, teachers require at least 48-hour notice. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate rescheduling requests, subject to instructor availability within the current term.

IS THIS A SUMMER DAY CAMP OR AN ONLINE PROGRAM?
Best of both worlds, actually. We offer all the structure, community, and enrichment of traditional day camps—daily engagement through scaffolded course design in one- or two-week sessions—via dynamic, interactive Live Zooms.
Think of it as Day Camp Reimagined for modern families: very small groups (5 students max or even 1:1 v. dozens at on-the-ground camps), no commute, flexible scheduling. It's a powerful, personal alternative to programs like Stanford Summer Intensive where students from all over the Bay Area build authentic relationships and 21st Century LEARNING skills that last a lifetime.
