- Sustainable living, taking action, and making conscious choices as an artist
- Plants and vegetables grown in a garden to create a color palette for dyeing fabric
- Pattern and texture using natural materials, paint, and more
- Keeping a journal to draw plants from still life, note taking, and brainstorming
- Exploring composition to create unique fiber art, including functional wearable art
